The Village Sport Shop was established in 1978 by the visions of John Hibshman
to create a sporting goods store unlike any other…one that covered ALL the bases.
In a time where wood heat was viable and elbow grease was the only way, John set
off to make himself stand out in the crowd. Being an outdoor sports enthusiast,
it was second nature selecting the product lines that are still carried to this day.
From hunting and fishing to skiing and biking with everything in between the Village
Sport Shop has helped hundreds of thousands of satisfied sports enthusiasts to enjoy the
outdoors as they should. John's goal to this day is to supply the public with a
different level of customer support that is not offered in any other environment,
"Give them what they want." is the philosophy that has shaped The Village Sport
Shop into what it is today.
Family values in the fast paced world, make this sporting goods store a wonder that
has to be seen to be believed. Knowing that you must be able to use something to
sell it, John has made it a policy that only the sports oriented employee is to work
in the store, which creates a comfortable knowledgeable environment to work and shop.
The Village Sport Shop continues to operate with family values first, with John's son
