Where to Ride


Just got your rental bike and not sure where to go? Looking for a few new routes? Village Sport Shop has got you covered! We've begun to map routes on the Kingdom Trails network using Strava to make exploration easier than ever. 


The routes we have gathered vary in difficulty and length, but will all start and end at our storefront on Darling Hill.  Most of them will take around an hour to ride. Individually, these routes are great for those looking for a ride that's not too long, and those who want to go a bit farther can string a few routes together!

*DISCLAIMER* Strava activities will usually record about half a mile off of the actual length of the trail. For accurate distance estimates,  look at the distance measurement in each written description.


Easy  Breezy

A perfect way for those new to the sport or those with little ones to experience the beauty of the Kingdom on two wheels!  Enjoy mellow single track through open fields, wide bridges, and open double track while you experience the beauty of Darling Ridge.  There are two short climbs, one of which is on the steep side…but nothing dismounting and walking the bike for 30 seconds won’t solve!

Difficulty: Easy

Distance: 4.6 miles

Time: 45 - 60 minutes

Plunging NewT-ly

A fast flowing, twisty descent through loads of man-made berms, looping through an old pine forest, and along the calm waters of the west branch of the Passumpsic.  A moderately challenging climb back up the winding turns of West Bench, up Old Webs and past the Pavilion, with the final leg along Darling Hill Road (stay to the right and single file, please!)

Difficulty: Less Challenging

Distance: 5 miles

Time: 45-60 minutes

Fall from Heaven

A mix of intermediate and non-technical expert trails, this ride descends from VSS Trailside to the east branch of the Passumpsic River, offering some amazing views from Heaven’s Bench, a fast/flowing descent down Ridge and Rim trails, and a moderately challenging climb back up to the ridge.

Difficulty: Moderately challenging

Distance: 7 miles

Time: 60 - 75 minutes 


East Meets West

A fast flowing descent through loads of man-made berms, and then along the calm waters of the west branch of the Pussumpsic.  Climb back up to the ridge before descending the east side of Darling Hill and challenging yourself on a root-ridden climb up Sugar Hill before arriving back at Heaven’s Bench for a million dollar view!

Difficulty: Moderately challenging

Distance: 5.5 miles

Time: 45 - 60 minutes 

Run From the Ridge

Want to get off Darling Ridge and see more of what KT has to offer?  This route offers the opportunity to experience some of the best trails on the network, get away from rider traffic, push yourself a little bit, and ride some great terrain ranging from fast, flowy and open to tight, tough and rooty.

Difficulty: Challenging

Distance: 12.1 miles

Time:  1.5 - 2 hours

Tiki Time!

A great way to finish the day!  Depart VSS Trailside and experience some adrenaline filled descents down the twisties of Emma's, and Ozias...and some burly climbs along Emma's Revenge and Coronary Bypass.  Finish with a shot down Kitchel and arrive at your destination...the world famous Mike's Tiki Bar, for a well-earned beverage of choice!

Difficulty: Challenging

Distance: 9.7 miles

Time: 75-90 minutes
